[Verse 1]
He came into the world before the early light was done,
A boy who'd learned to read a room before he'd learned to run,
Eleven different doorways, none of them his own to keep,
A mind that memorized each face but rarely fell to sleep,
He carried more than any child should ever have to hold,
A heart that knew the weight of cold before he'd grown up old,

[PreChorus]
But somewhere in that classroom, something shifted in the air,
A man who'd read his story chose to pull up one more chair,

[Chorus]
Jacob, you were chosen when the choosing wasn't easy,
Jacob, through the hard years and the nights that weren't breezy,
You are seen, you are held, you are someone's reason why,
Jacob, you were always worth the fight,

[Verse 2]
He thinks in depths that others never bother to descend,
A word from him lands heavier than speeches without end,
His memory keeps ledgers of the promises that broke,
And every lock inside him was a door that someone spoke,
He scanned each new arrival for the signal — stay or leave,
Till one man kept on knocking, kept on choosing to believe,

[PreChorus]
Not bound by blood or paperwork or what the world declares,
But by a man who showed up and refused to stop being there,

[Chorus]
Jacob, you were chosen when the choosing wasn't easy,
Jacob, you're the answer to a prayer that came through clearly,
You are loved, you are held, every scar upon your name,
Jacob, not one piece of you is shame,

[Verse 3]
He loves the way a careful hand repairs what someone broke,
With balanced beauty, steadiness, the quiet and the spoke,
He seeks the equal measure in the giving and the taking,
A partner and a household and a life of his own making,
He built that table level where the crooked floors once stood,
And every guest who sits there feels that finally someone could,

[PreChorus]
The boy who had no stable ground grew steady on his own,
And turned the borrowed threshold of a classroom to a home,

[Chorus]
Jacob, you were chosen when the road had all but ended,
Jacob, look how far you've come from everything you mended,
You are whole, you are real, you are someone's greatest pride,
Jacob, there is nothing left to hide,

[Verse 4]
He's standing on the edge of thirty, married, and alive,
A testament to every year he fought to more than just survive,
His mind cuts through pretension like a key inside a lock,
His purpose growing clearer as he clears each stumbling block,
The man he's built is nothing like the child the system stored,
He walked through fire quietly and never lost his word,

[PreChorus]
And somewhere a man still marvels at the son that he chose right,
Who carries all that history forward, burning his own light,

[Chorus]
Jacob, you were chosen and that choosing changed the story,
Jacob, every door that closed was leading to your glory,
You are here, you are his, you are more than you were told,
Jacob, watch the rest of your life unfold,

[Bridge]
He kept no file, no catalog of all the times he almost quit,
He kept one boy, one promise, and the stubborn shape of it,
Two people found a family in the rubble of before,
And proved that choosing someone is what fathers are made for,

[Outro]
Jacob, this is yours now, every chapter, every mile,
The man who claimed you sees you and has never stopped that smile,
Go on, Jacob, go on,
You were chosen, and you won,
