[Verse 1]
He came into this world with a general's eye and a poet's tongue,
Climbed to the top before the morning bell had rung,
Public as a monument, standing where the whole town could see,
Yet his truest thoughts arrived like letters written in a language only he could read,
The vision wider than the avenue, the ambition drawn in bold,
A man who led the room before the story had been told

[PreChorus]
But behind the reputation, behind the name that carried weight,
Something in him held the door for everyone but stood outside the gate

[Chorus]
Jerry, you were built to blaze, not to beg for room,
Every crowd you ever faced was lit up by your noon,
You don't have to earn the ground you walk on, it was yours from the start,
Jerry, the whole sky already knows the size of your heart

[Verse 2]
Three forces gathered in the second house like irons in a forge,
Ambition, pride, and discipline hammering at the gorge,
He wanted recognition but taught himself to doubt the throne,
So he built his fortune quietly and called the kingdom "loan,"
What others called restraint in him was mastery held tight,
He earned each thing he touched twice over just to know it right

[PreChorus]
And still he measured every step the way a craftsman measures grain,
As if the harvest only counted if it came back after rain

[Chorus]
Jerry, you were built to lead, not to pace behind the door,
Every room you ever entered always needed something more,
The discipline you carried wasn't caution — it was steel,
Jerry, the forge that shaped you hardest is the proof that you are real

[Verse 3]
His mind would slip through borders while his body held the line,
Reading past the chapter's end to find the truth behind the sign,
He could name the philosophy before the scholar found the page,
A wide and wandering curiosity that deepened into age,
Devoted to the people in his circle, slow to give his hand,
But once he gave it, you could build a house on where he'd stand

[PreChorus]
He showed his love by staying, by the table set again,
By the second cup of coffee and remembering the when

[Chorus]
Jerry, you were built to last, not to flicker and retreat,
Every loyalty you've offered is a flag on a complete street,
You give the way a craftsman gives — precise and without waste,
Jerry, what you built with steady hands no shortcut could have placed

[Verse 4]
Now something in the frequency of things has started to shift and ring,
Like a door he's always passed now hanging open, beckoning,
The old performance nearly done, the audience set aside,
What rises now is something truer than the role he occupied,
The voice that spoke in metaphor is ready to speak plain,
Not to prove the worth again, but to go claim the terrain

[PreChorus]
The stars he never named are naming him today in turn,
A man who banked the fire now has room enough to burn

[Chorus]
Jerry, you were born for more than you have let yourself believe,
Every thread you've woven tight is now a tapestry to leave,
Step into the open where the work becomes the song,
Jerry, the whole blazing life you've lived has always known it all along

[Bridge]
He never needed the applause to know the work was true,
But the work kept asking louder: who are you doing this for, who?
The answer waits inside the thing he set aside at thirty,
The unfinished page, the unmailed word — now it's time to let it speak for Jerry

[Outro]
Jerry, the fire you've carried never needed someone's permission,
It was always the anthem, always the mission,
Step forward now — the stage, the page, the uncut ground,
Jerry, you're the frequency the world has waited to have found
